This will at least give you your base code-plug to work with. You will need to read your radio and save the file before you do anything. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola). XTS5000 P25 models are pricks to work with in my opinion mine has a very limited feature set and getting flashcodes is expensive when trying to work around motorola. Check your flashcode on the decoder to see what options are installed.

The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate just purchase it.įor M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. It should be noted that they do not use regular Jedi programming cables and have their own programming cables (available in serial or USB). 6 7/800 XTS2500's.I like the Astro 25 line but they certainly made some programming improvements on the APX line. I've got one or two 800 MHz Astro Spectra Pluses. For VHF I've got Motorola Astro Spectra and Astro Spectra Plus (again, not the same radios) radios. I've got one as a work radio (VHF) and one as a personal radio (7/800). Look here for a flashcode decoder for Astro radios. R20.00.01 was the last version released (be careful, the XTS1500/2500/5000 radios use the Astro 25 Portable CPS and the Astro Spectra Plus (not to be confused with the Astro Spectra) and XTL1500/2500/5000 use the Astro 25 Mobile CPS.

Yes you will have to obtain the software (I honestly don't know how to go about it as I get it through my employer).
Depot will still service the radios and there are thousands still deployed. As of the Astro25 line has officially been EOL'd as that was the last day to order flash upgrades from Motorola.
